Tucked between coastline and farmland, guests will find that Indigo Retreat is surrounded by options for locally grown produce, freshly caught seafood, and small producers making artisanal breads, dairy products and wine. Stock up and enjoy the tastes of the South Coast from the comfort, peace and privacy of the retreat, or venture out into the surrounding towns for a bite at one of many new cafes and restaurants.

Cooking at Indigo – a great destination for foodies

Stock your Indigo Retreat pantry with local produce and settle in for a complete break away from the world. Think Australia’s best oysters, beautiful sourdough bread from our new bakery, pastries from Cream Patisserie, and local Tilba milk, butter and cheeses. A Thursday farmers market in Bermagui is a great place also to find freshly harvested fruit and vegetables, spices, sauces and sweet treats.

 

Guests at Indigo are encouraged to supplement locally bought foods with anything found in the Retreat’s garden. We have a beautiful covered organic vegie garden with varying amounts of leafy greens and herbs throughout the year. We also have a selection of stone fruit and citrus trees. Assorted spices and sauces are stocked in your pantry so that you don’t have to bring a supermarket full of food for your stay.

Equipment

EAST LODGE
Cook up a storm at East Lodge. The indoor kitchen has twin steam ovens, a large fridge with ice making, a tea and toast zone with zip boiling and ice water, coffee machine and an abundant selection of gourmet teas. The butler’s pantry is fully equipped with appliances such as a food processor, cafe grill, rice cooker, juicer and more. There is an inside kitchenette downstairs with an extra fridge, microwave and dishwasher.

 

East Lodge also as a covered kitchen beside the pool. Here, guests can make use of a teppanyaki BBQ, gas hotplate, sink, and fridge as well as a gas pizza oven. Overlooking the pool upstairs is a second outdoor living space with a gas Webber BBQ, adjoining a terrace with a firepit and woodfired pizza oven.

 

WEST LODGE
West Lodge has a smaller more humble farmhouse style kitchen, but still offers lots of opportunities to cook beautiful food. In addition to a standard oven and microwave it has a full set of appliances including a coffee machine, food processor, juicer and more. The outdoor dining space includes a sink, teppanyaki style BBQ and a new professional standard woodfired pizza oven.
